What the Clinic can offer
Counselling in different languages
Currently we can offer counselling in Arabic (North African, Middle Eastern and all dialects), French, Farsi, Spanish, Bosnian, Serbo-Croat, Albanian, Somali, Swahili, Turkish and English. We may from time to time be able to offer counselling in other languages; please contact the Clinic to check.
Advocacy and Information
We offer an advocacy and information service to clients who have been assessed and are in ongoing counselling with the Clinic - on such issues as immigration, welfare benefits, housing, asylum support, and access to health, education and other services. We can also refer clients for specialist advice and representation on these and other matters. For more information on the Clinic's Advocacy Service, please click here.
Is our service for you?
The service is free to refugees, including asylum seekers, who are 18 or over. The Clinic's main catchment area is the boroughs of Brent, Harrow, Barnet, Enfield, Camden and Westminster, but we will accept referrals from anywhere in London. Depending on circumstances, help may be provided with travel expenses.
For information on how to refer yourself or someone else to the Clinic's counselling service, click here, email clinic@minstercentre.org.uk, or telephone 0207 644 6250.
What we do not offer
What we cannot offer is an emergency or 'drop in' service. People are seen for counselling by appointment only. The Clinic is not appropriate for treating people with acute or chronic psychiatric problems or alcohol or substance misuse. There are specialists agencies with long experience of managing these problems.
